About

Golda Terebelo OTR/L, CAPS, a licensed Occupational Therapist with clinical experience working with adults with medical/limiting conditions, was inspired to specialize in an area which she felt would increase her clients’ quality of life beyond typical therapy treatment sessions.

Upon doing research, Golda discovered the CAPS (Certified Aging in Place Specialist) certification, which is a certification designated by the National Association of Home Builders to assist professionals in fine-tuning their abilities to assess and modify homes to increase accessibility for their residents. Golda synced the connection between her clinical skills as a licensed occupational therapist along with the home assessment training recognizing the weight of a blended approach.

Golda saw this as her calling, embracing the idea of increasing clients’ abilities to reside in their homes barrier-free as providing a level of quality of life which cannot be matched. Golda took the leap, acquired the CAPS certification, and created Adapt to Stay to fulfill this calling.

Golda graduated from the Long Island University Brooklyn School of Health Professions with honors in addition to receiving the class Academic Excellence award “for outstanding academic performance and dedication to the program of study in Occupational Therapy”.
